The Program

The program is specifically designed to prepare students for the academic challenges they face in high school and college. Students learn essential study skills that will last a lifetime. Their needs are met with a variety of activities designed to encourage students to take control of their own learning and discover their study style. Throughout the course students develop a study action plan for use during the school year.

Students will receive:

-Student organizer

-Personalized recommendations for success

-Knowledge that lasts a lifetime

Personalized Small Classes

The course is taught by a certified, experienced classroom teacher. Small classroom size and student-tailored activities help students discover their learning style and improve academic performance. Activities are designed based on individual students' needs.

Program Director

Lewis Van Wambeke is Assistant Principal of Academic Affairs at Archbishop Spalding High School. He earned his Masters of Leadership in Teaching from The College of Notre Dame, Maryland and Bachelor of Arts from SI. Mary's College of Maryland. He is dedicated to improving student performance and helping students reach their academic potential.

 

Enrolling

The cost for the course is $250 per student. The total amount must be paid two weeks before the course. A $100 deposit is due at registration.

 

The prepare-ED Study Skills Courses are noncredit and open to students entering Archbishop Spalding High SchOOl in grades 9-12. ' Class sizes are small at 20 students or less. Registration secures your child a spot in the course. " Archbishop Spalding High School reserves the right to cancel classes due to lack of enrollment.
